One App for all Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions

With MuVision you can use our augmented reality (AR) technology to create stimulating and interactive guided tour modules with augmented reality (AR)-supported narratives. This improves your visitors’ engagement as well as educational effects. And you can publish your museum or exhibition data and news via the very same app, too. To help you visualise the application’s potential and develop new ideas, this page outlines some of its key features.

Your visitors will only need ONE app – it has everything they require to explore museum and exhibition information as well as enjoy the AR experience.

Key features

Wayfinding

With signs visible only to app users, you can create customised directions and routes through your venue. These can refer to points of interest such as lifts, cloakrooms or meeting points, or take visitors on guided tours.

The size, colour or shape of the signs can be adapted for visibility in a variety of contexts, and the use of internationally comprehensible symbols avoids language barriers.

Multimedia

Utilise audio, video, and other multimedia tools to share valuable insights from artists, curators, and experts with your visitors.

You can attach information to any object, work of art or anywhere in your institution, which will then be visible, readable or audible in the app. Historical footage, documentation, related artworks, descriptions of techniques used or information from the artists themselves – anything is possible. It is up to the visitors to decide when they want to access this information – clear labelling helps visitors to find and activate this additional information.

Multiliguality

Provide the content in the languages of your visitors from around the world to discover the treasures of your cultural institution.

It is often difficult for international visitors to understand accompanying texts or object labels, and the space available for translations into other languages is usually limited. Audio guides in different languages can only help to a limited extent and often only cover part of the collection. This is where our app comes in, allowing visitors to view these texts in their preferred language. While these translations are currently produced by specialist translation agencies, AI translations into less common languages will be available in the app in the near future.

Accessibility

Integrates a series of support functions, including navigation aid, map, audio transcripts, and font size adjustment, ensuring a personalised, accessible, and convenient user experience.

Ensuring maximum accessibility in the cultural sector is not only a legal requirement, but also reflects the institutions’ determination to serve all citizens. A surprisingly large proportion of the population has special needs when it comes to perceiving visual or auditory information, understanding complex texts or navigating buildings. Our app has many ways of presenting previously inaccessible information to this group of people without barriers.

Interactivity

Our AR technology integrates 3D animation & digital overlays with the physical exhibitions to allow visitors to explore and interact with artefacts.

Objects behind glass or at a safe distance from visitors are inaccessible. With AR technology, the opposite is possible – objects can be touched, rotated and examined more closely. And they offer in-depth information via ‘hot spots’ that can be activated by clicking on them.

Hybrid Art

Our AR technology integrates 3D animation & digital overlays with the physical exhibitions to allow visitors to explore and interact with artefacts.

This example shows an artist’s interpretation of Joan Miró’s ‘Flight of the Dragonfly in Front of the Sun’. The animated dragonfly detaches itself from the painting, flies through the room and can be viewed from all sides. Each visitor sees the hybrid artwork of art from their own perspective.

Good to know!

Art objects in a museum or exhibition usually stay in the same place for a long time, and we use this to provide location-based additional information such as text, video or audio commentary. But sometimes art objects are on tour and you need a different approach. So our app can detect objects when they are in a different location, and all the additional information can be displayed in the same way as you are used to from us.
